Will of Jonathan Russell,Jr. 1878
In the name of God, Amen,
I Jonathan Russell of the town of Frankfort in the county of Herkimer
and state of New York Aged eighty one years and upwards, and being of
sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will
and Testament in manner following
First
I direct that my funeral charges the expenses of administering my Estate,
and all my debts be paid out of my personal property, and if that be insufficient,
I expressly charge the payment thereof [or of] and deficiency upon the
Real Estate whereof I may die seized or possessed
Second
I give and bequeath unto each of my daughters hereinafter named, to wit,
Amanda Dyke wife of Rufus Dyke, Betsy Lewis wife of Dennis Lewis, Rachel
Manning wife of Kilborn Manning and Mary Russell the sum of three hundred
dollars, and to their respective heirs and assigns absolutely and forever
Third
I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary Russell all of my household
furniture of name and nature whatsoever and to her heirs and assigns absolutely
and forever
Fourth
All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate both Real and personal,
I give, grant, devise and bequeath unto my sons Jonathan Russell Jr, Pardon
S. Russell, and George M. Russell and to my said daughter Mary Russell
share and share alike and to their respective heirs, Executors, Administrators,
and assigns absolutely and forever
Fifth
I hereby nominate and appoint my son Pardon S. Russell sole Executor of
this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me
made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth
day April one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight.

Codicil
In the name of God, Amen:
This is a Codicil to my last Will & Testament bearing date the 17th
day of April 1878
First
I give and bequeath unto my daughter in law Harriet Russell widow of Jonathan
Russell Jr deceased the sum of one hundred [& fifty] dollars and to
my Granddaughter Alice [M] Russell Jones the sum of one hundred and fifty
dollars, and to my Grandson Irving Russell the sum of two hundred dollars
& to their respective heirs, Executors Administrators & assigns
forever
Second
I will order and direct that my executor named in my said last Will and
Testament shall pay the three legacies above created and also the several
legacies names and provided in the second clause and subdivision of my
said last Will & Testament after the expiration of one year from my
decease
Third
All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal,
I give grant, devise, and bequeath unto my sons Pardon S. Russell and
George M. Russell and to my daughter Mary Russell share and share alike
and to their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns absolutely &
forever, hereby annulling and declaring void and for naught the fourth
(4th) clause and subdivision of my said last Will and Testament

this eighth day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine

Codicil
August 15th 1884. This is a Codicil to my last Codicil and to my last
Will and Testament bearing date the Eight day of April 1879. - I give
to my daughter in law Harriet Russell Widow of Jonathan Russell Jr deceased
the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to her respective heirs Executors
Administrators & assigns absolutely forever. This to Revoke the first
clause in my Codicil
